Brian Keenum

Brian Keenum began work as the Senior Director, DCS Business Infrastructure in January 2018. In his current role he is the business lead for all IT systems of record and the data strategy for Disaster Cycle Services.

Brian joined the Red Cross in 2012 as a Regional Disaster Officer in Virginia, where he was responsible for all activities relating to disaster preparedness, response and recovery efforts in his region. He has also held positions in logistics, performance assessment, and continues to be an Assistant Director on the Disaster Response Management Team, with focus on operations and logistics.

Brian represents DCS as the business owner for all Disaster Cycle Services IT systems with internal and external partners, and leads the strategic planning for DCS IT and information management.

A strong leader, collaborator and project manager, he brings a broad perspective to Red Cross business needs. Drawing from his early career in emergency medical services, law enforcement and the private sector, Brian is helping to shorten the distance between Red Cross services and clients through new and innovative IT solutions.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Ferrum College and a Master of Public Administration degree from James Madison University. He is currently attending Virginia Tech in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Information Technology.
